GPHL, Midea to dive into artificial intelligence in medicine

GPHL and Midea Group signed cooperation agreements on Sept. 19 to work together on robotics, medical equipment, the hospital drugs supply chain and pharmacy automation.
The two enterprises will carry out multidimensional cooperation in fields of robotics and medical equipment development, health data application, smart supply chain construction, medical investment and intelligent manufacturing. They will also explore new ways to realize technical breakthroughs, product innovation, cross-board service and model optimization.
Medical equipment will be one of the new focuses of GPHL over the next five years. According to the agreement, GPHL and Midea will jointly establish a partner company and carry out technical cooperation to develop and sell rehabilitation robots, surgical robots, and so on. The two parties will also work in health management and health big data development, so as to co-build a health big data center, innovation service system for health management as well as software and hardware for medicare.
Apart from the above-mentioned fields, GPHL and Midea will also cooperate on intelligent logistics. According to the agreement, Midea will provide solutions for GPHL’s drug supply chain; extending services and pharmacy automation.
Before signing the agreement with Midea, GPHL had linked up with iFLYTEK Co, a leading Chinese firm engaged in voice recognition and artificial intelligence technology. GPHL and iFLYTEK will work together on AI hospital tech, a smart healthcare information service system, intelligent customer service system, intelligent marketing, intelligent terminal and brand collaboration.
