The 2017 China Innovation Conference was held in Guangzhou on June 24. Li Chuyuan, chairman of GPHL was invited to this spectacular event and delivered a speech at the Conference.

On the same day, GPHL also reached an agreement on strategic cooperation with We Doctor—a digital hospital with an online diagnosis and treatment platform, facilitating profound integration of the Internet into the pharmaceutical industry. The China Innovation Conference (CIC) is a world-class convention of international standard, approved by the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC). The CIC aims to build up a platform for innovative communication, the Belt and Road Initiative, creative learning, resource integration and development of the innovation industry in light of the national high-end talent resource the DRC has and the comprehensive advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including the reform and opening up policy, innovative development and “first mover” privilege.

The biomedical industry is hailed as a growth industry, one of the key areas of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. At the 2017 China Innovation Conference with the theme of “From Passive Medical Care to Proactive Health care”, Li Chuyuan, chairman of GPHL was asked to give a speech based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, analyzing the opportunity that implementation of the Information Technology/Information Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Biopharmaceuticals (IAB) plan in Guangzhou brings to the biomedical and health industry. He further introduced the company’s advantages in industrial foundations, upper design, R&D, industry, Internet plus, culture and internationalization as well as its future planning. Li also claimed the company’s determination to pioneer the IAB plan.

On the same day, GPHL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with We Doctor, marking the first collaboration between the first Internet medical partnership platform and a large pharmaceutical company after the State Council announced new policies on medical partnerships in April.

As the largest drug retailer in Guangzhou, GPHL has over 300 chain drugstores. Upon cooperation with Guangzhou digital hospital, its offline drugstores will join We Doctor and remote treatment systems, extending the business model from simple offline pharmaceutical sales to online treatment.

Regarding medical care, Guangzhou Baiyunshan Hospital under GPHL will become a member of We Doctor. As a supplier, GPHL will provide drugs, devices and materials for institutions within We Doctor.

At the signing ceremony, Li Chuyuan said that with the technology and resources of We Doctor, GPHL will have freer reign over its industrial edge and provide diversified and comprehensive medical and health services for users. He also stated that the cooperation set a good example for the integration of the IAB industry, unveiling a significant opportunity for both parties.
