GPHL attends the China (Guangdong)-U.K. Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference

From June 6 to 15, a delegation led by Hu Chunhua, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, wrapped up a visit to Israel, Ireland and Britain regarding economic and trade cooperation. The visit was hosted by People’s Government of Guangdong Province and organized by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province.
Li Chuyuan, the chairman of GPHL, on behalf of various Guangdong key enterprises and Guangdong’s biomedical and health industry, also joined the activities along with the delegation.
During the Conference, GPHL conferred with international pharmaceutical giants including Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, the largest generic drug manufacturer and Walgreens Boots Alliance, the largest pharmaceutical retailers, discussing about further cooperation in Chinese market in the future.
Over the recent years, GPHL has conducted profound dialogues with Global Top 500 Enterprises via international high-end platforms such as World Economic Forum and Boao Forum for Asia. It has reached cooperative intention with internationally renowned companies and institutions including Siemens, Time Medical, Novartis and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited.
Apart from that, GPHL already established joint ventures with international giants years ago, which include: Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Corporation set up by GPHL and Walgreens Boots Alliance, Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain and Hutchison Whampoa Ltd established by GPHL and Hutchison Whampoa Limited, Guangzhou Baxter Healthcare Company Limited by GPHL and Baxter. These companies have become key parts of the GPHL major business sectors.
Driven by the trend of internationalization, GPHL, with a good momentum, reached sales revenue of 87.8 billion RMB last year which is expected to go beyond 100 billion RMB this year. According to Li Chuyuan, the next goal of GPHL is to make into the list of Global Top 500 Enterprises. Based on the 13th Five-year Plan, by 2020, GPHL will become an integrated world-class pharmaceutical and health company focused on pharmaceutical, medical care, health products, health service and logistics and one of the Global Top 500 Enterprises.
