Hu Chunhua (L1), Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee holds talks with Stefano Pessina (R1), executive vice chairman and CEO of WBA and Li Chuyuan (R2), chairman of GPHL.  

On the morning of June 14, 2017, Hu Chunhua, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC’s Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee attended the China (Guangdong)-UK Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference with the Guangdong delegation. Li Chuyuan,  chairman of GPHL, on behalf of tkey enterprises and the bio-medicine industry in Guangdong, joined the Conference as a key delegate.

During the Conference, Hu met with Li Chuyuan, and with Stefano Pessina, executive vice chairman and CEO of WBA and Ornella Barra, Co-Chief Operating Officer for WBA. Hu expressed his appreciation as to the results of GPHL and WBA’s cooperation,, encouraging the two companies to implement further and more comprehensive cooperation strategies.  

The strategic cooperation between GPHL and WBA was first established in 2007. Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Company Limited (GPCL), a joint investment by both enterprises, is held to be the leading company in the Grand Commerce Sector of GPHL. At the Conference, they outlined a new road map to push forward the development of GPCL.
